In
Remembrance

We, the faculty, staff and students
of the Department of Chemistry, are terribly sad to announce that our
friend and colleague Aaron D. Mills (“Don”) unexpectedly passed away
on Saturday, May 9, 2009. Aaron was only 32 years old and stood at the
beginning of a promising career in bio-organic chemistry. He joined the
department in summer 2008, so he had been with us less than a year. Yet
we had come to love and appreciate his friendly smile, his boyish charm,
and his keen intellect. We can’t even imagine how devastating his
passing must be to his family, especially his young wife Heidi and his
parents.
As the world rolls on and we wonder
how and why a young life like Aaron’s was taken from us, all of us
will have to carry on without him. It will not be easy.

Chair
In lieu of flowers, Aaron's parents wish to establish a
scholarship in his name. Memorial donations may be directed to the
University of Idaho Foundation for the Aaron Mills Scholarship Fund in
