Planned Events

Saturday, Oct 16 1:00-3:00 pm, Chemical demonstration at the Palouse Discovery Science Center in Pullman, by the U. Idaho Student affiliate.

Tuesday Oct. 19, 12:30 pm, University of Idaho Commons, Whitewater room. Nick Natale is giving a lecture on the U. of I. campus, entitled "A periodic table of the moles: building bridges to Native American students", describing the program for the past few years. He will conclude by promoting this years activities.

Thursday Oct. 21, U. of I. campus, 11:30 am Renfrew Hall 111 Mini-symposium on the use of native plants as medicines. Joy Mastroguiseppe will speak on the native plants used in traditional medicines, and Trina Villalobos will describe her work on the analysis of a Nez Perce tribal medicine, and Nick Natale will round out the hour.

Friday and Saturday, Oct. 22-23, Tutxinmepu pow-wow, WIBS is sponsoring a dance in the children's category, a "mole' dance to build bridges between the local section and future scientists and engineers. The UI club will be hosting a demo table Saturday afternoon.
The Native American Student Association is still looking for volunteers for their Indian taco booth, and all student clubs are welcome to help. If there is interest I can put you in contact with their faculty advisors, Yolanda Bisbee [yobiz@uidaho.edu] or Aaron Thompson [amthomas@uidaho.edu].
